Rishab always loved the fact that he could create something on his own and lego toys were a big part of his creations for a long time. Long Lego playlist on his video channel- https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbBOPvmjD9x8H1FcMi2J3l7tTmHjHpI8g is a testament to that fact. This not only introduces electronic parts such as transistors, battery, speaker, motor, buttons switches etc but also teach them to connect them together in a logical order to result in over 125 projects.
Rishab claimed that it was the greatest toy he ever reviewed so far and is already feeling like a scientist.
Rishab got Super Magnetic Space putty as one of the Christmas gift. Same day Rishi visited him and they both were eager to open it and play with it.
Here is a review of Magnetic putty. You can combine other magnetic materials and have hours of fun with it.
Rishab visited Smolak farms today to pick apples and pumpkin in North Andover MA.
Picked apples and enjoyed playing with Veer and Kaira
Its time Rishab learn more coding and nothing better than Hour of code website promoted by Obama. Since Rishab already knew Scratch programming to some extent and loved Minecraft, he was excited to learn Blockly where he could create his own minecraft.
Within a few minutes he knew what to do and ended up figuring out what code to write on his own.

This weekend we worked on another fun project. Melting crayons and making an art of it. Rishab loved it. Although its a lot more messier than other forms of art, kids thoroughly enjoy melting their crayons.

BatMan has been Rishab’s favorite character from last 2-3 years. He has been drawing batman logos once in a while. For this painting we first Googled a good batman logo, chose the colors and a created an outline with pencil.

Rishab completed most of the painting. I refined the edges of the painting. We completed this painting in just 2 days(a weekend).
This was our second painting with signature #KattimaniBoyz #KB
Checkout our other famous (well at least our) blue flowers painting.
Rishab has been looking forward to open his new acrylic painting set and gazebo birdhouse. Ended up painting it today.
If you are thinking of shooting a video like this, here are some tips
- Video was shot with a DSLR camera on a tripod, you can record the video with your phone or handycam too. Rishab’s previous painting video was entirely shot on my cell phone.
- A video editing software such as Pinnacle studio to trim the video clips, fast forward, overlay text & some motion effects between pictures.
- Lots of patience to take multiple shots
Don’t forget to make it a fun process for you & your kid so that it feels effortless.
No matter how late or busy we are, there is always some time for playing with snow.
Thought of spending some quality time with Rishab on some activity and painting came to my mind. We rushed to the art stores to grab our brushes, paints and canvas.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted us to paint and we got started. Drawing the background was easy part. Waiting for 2-3 days for it to dry was the tough part and we didn’t know about it. Internet helped us know oil paints better and we learnt to be patient instead trying to artificially dry the paint and mess it up.
After spending 35 hours spanned over 11 days (almost whole of weekends), the painting was ready.

Finally we also made a video of how the painting came up live.
It was great experience creating this beautiful painting (our masterpiece).
This was coined by one of our neighbor Ron Holmquist almost 5 years ago. We will continue to use this tag for anything that Rishab and I will co-create.
This morning we went out to jog in the forest. Rishab is always a good sport. Got his bicycle and was riding it as long the trail was even. After some time his bicycle away and started running with me. Together we explored a lot about the nature as always and had some exercise to our body.

When it was time to go back, Rishab tried to lead us and went in to a wrong direction for quite some time. I had to really run hard to reach him and stop him from going further in the wrong direction.
