Rishab has started reading and writing. Although he cannot say the spellings of all words knows, he can still read many words and unknown words also. Writing has improved significantly in the last few months and he has started writing words. Now we ask him to write 5 words before he finishes his studies. He writes somewhat like this. Note the “A”missing in BALL and L and S are reverse

He is slowly reading simple sentenses. I created a small website for him to learn words. here it is http://www.kannada-greetings.com/kids
This shows a word, pauses for 10 seconds and shows the button to which on clicking shows the picture related to the word. It feels very rewarding for Rishab to see the pictures once he successfully reads the word.

Works best on Google chrome. Just noticed that Internet explorer gives a javascript error. If any one is seriously interested, i can update that website to support IE.
Rishab is reading words slowly by joining letters. He does explore new words on his own and gets excited to know familiar words.
